Product Details

A jet-black ale with a roasted-malt character that's offset by residual sweetness and full body - think of sweetened black coffee. De-bittered black and chocolate malts yield a pronounced - but not harsh - roast grain quality, while lactose (an unfermentable milk-based sugar) yields a rich sweetness and creamy mouthfeel. Very nice as an after-dinner drink instead of coffee, or with chocolate desserts.

If you enjoyed Cream Stout or Watknee's Cream Stout (Watney's), you'll love this kit!

Dessert in. A glass

Easy to brew with a fabulous taste at the end. Full body but not filling like most stourts

Always a favorite.

I have brewed this beer a number of times as an extract kit. I recently brewed it with this all-grain kit for the first time, having converted to BIAB all-grain method. As is common with many dark beers, it benefits from some aging. I like to have this or oatmeal stout around because they pair so well with Szechuan food (a family favorite).
