Good yeast

High viability. It made an excellent starter for this year's batch of wild grape wine.

clean taste

I used Red Star Rouge because I ended up using the original yeast packet from the Luna Red blend kit on some cider. I used it as an opportunity to try a different yeast than the standard Lalvin 1118 that comes with all the kits. The Red Star Rouge staled after a couple of days but put in some wine nutrient and it finished out to the desired gravity. Made a very clean tasting wine. It got me thinking that in the future I will try different yeast stains when making more expensive wine kits.
