Good Lager(Sulfur and Mild Yeast)

Did a SMASH beer, Viking xtra pale malt and Hershbrucker. The beer was 4% with a 3.0 Lovibond color 22 ibu. Primary: 7 days Keg and Lager 4 weeks(beer cleared). First few glasses a bit cloudy, but after first few the beer was CRYSTAL Clear. Delicious beer, but the yeast character is definitely there, you can find the sulfur and a bit of a crusty Hausbrauerei bread, so it is by no means a tasteless yeast. I believe it would work better in a 5 lovibond beer wth a 5% ABV, but my delicate beer led to really only the taste of bitter hop and yeast.

Excellent for Mai Bocks! A personal favorite.

I use two packs per batch of Mai Bock, as well as Oktoberfest Marzen style.
To say it's a lager yeast, it's pretty forgiving of the lagering temps. Have made totally delicious brews using temps as high as 68-70.
Highly suggest an ice pack in the summer months.

One of the best Lager Yeasts

If you like heavier Czech Pilsners and Lagers this is the yeast to use. Made Oktoberfest and came out real well. Love the taste. Does have a little sulfur-like smell with it. I like it but you may not. It’s why it’s 4 star.

My Favorite!

I have been using this strain since the late 90's and have made the best beer I and my friends have ever had. I use a starter at the same gravity as my receipe and ferment at lower temperatures.

Very good lager yeast

Punched pouch and didn't take long to expand. Pitched it and next day it's doing its thing. Tasty
