Product Details

Oak and tannins, pepper, and spice combine to enhance trademark blackcurrant and cherry flavors. Rich fruit and complex structure dazzle from first aroma to long, refined finish.

Sweetness: Dry | Body: Full | Oak Intensity: Heavy

Winexpert Private Reserve wine kits include easy-to-follow instructions, yield thirty 750ml bottles with a fermentation time of 8 weeks. Bottle labels are included; however, a winemaking equipment kit is required to make these kits. Because this recipe includes grape skins that take up more space in your fermenter, we suggest a larger fermenter like the Stainless Steel Sovereign or our plastic 7.9 gallon wine bucket.

Honest Review

I’m over 2 years of the aging process on 10+ kits, the red wines are highly different than fresh grapes fermented on skins and seeds. The high end kits are somewhat drinkable but disappointing, even when tweaking. In my personal option, the reds are usually spicy and oaky after 2+ years of age. Was expecting more for the money I paid. I would suggest purchasing fresh or frozen grapes if you’re committed to making a decent wine

I Have Not Started The Brewing Process Yet. All The Other Midwest Products Have Been Excellent And I expect The Lodi Ranch Kit To Be The Same.

So far so good

I started this on December 5th and bottled on February 6th. The kit directions were pretty straight forward. I had it in the carboy a little longer than the directions and also racked it three times. The clarity and taste of the wine was excellent at bottling time. In fact, better tasting than any wine I have ever made at that point - nice fruit and body - also smooth. I'm really looking forward to trying it after it sits on its side for at least 6 months. I would definitely purchase again barring some unforeseen disaster!

Instructions not what I’m use to.

I haven’t tasted the wine but it’s instructions are quite different than what I’m use to and that IS a problem.

best of the best

The premier wine for the red wine lovers ! I have made ranch eleven for the past decade. I make 75 gallons a year and let it rest properly. Not a wine to to drink young for it deepens in richness with age. It still tastes super if you can not wait for a year or two to age, you just miss the opportunity of a lifetime.
