Subtle and elegant. Medium, medium plus, and heavy toasted French oak imbue the wine with delicate notes of spice, vanilla, caramel, tea, toffee, and chocolate. The tannin contribution from this blend is rich and powerful, creating a full body with a silky mouth feel. This package is designed for use in a six gallon batch and the whole pack must be used to acheive the intended results.

Just what I needed

I needed to add some mouthfeel to a mead and was not let down. These added a good amount of tanins and oaky flavor. Really saved a batch for me.

Improve your wine

This oak has a nicer flavor than the other oaks I've tried in my wine._x000D_There is a subtle vanilla flavor and the overall tannins and structure are superior to other oak.

Adds oak and complexity due to the tannins

I like this blend of oak. It adds more than just the oak and vanilla flavors. It adds complexity and greater mouth feel. It's well suited to red wines that need to be aged.

Different tasting than American oak

I've used American oak before and it has a different taste. This is a nicer grade of oak with better flavor, and better suited for wine making.
