Product Details

Designed for the purist…Beer. Simply Beer. It has everything you need to brew great beer and nothing you don’t. We’ve stripped away all the extras to reveal the very heart of a perfect Stout.

The result? The most streamlined, straight-forward brewing experience ever. And a beer somewhere between a classic Irish stout and its American counterpart. Traditional roasted barley gives this beer its distinctive color and roasted flavors, while classic American hops provide the perfect balance of bitterness and hop flavor.

Simple perfection. That is what Simply Beer is all about – recipes, ingredients and instructions designed to keep brew day simple, and deliver beer that’s perfect for everyday drinking and sharing.

Life is complicated. Beer. Simply Beer isn’t. Cheers!

Simply beer stout

I have brewed this for years. I keg it and add lactose maltodextrin and coffe always good

Love the basics.

I am a true fan of brewing in the old fashioned way, so you can say that I am a purist. When I open a bottle of my Simply Beer, I am never disappointed.
I started brewing my 'depression beer' in 1958 and have always had 'home brew' on hand ever since. My first recipe was one cam (2.2 pounds) Blue Ribbon malt extract, ten pounds sugar and ten gallons of water and Gold Star bakers yeast. I guessed at when to bottle by watching the bubbling activity and winging it. The results varied a lot and sometimes the bottles erupted when the cap was removed, even washing the the ceiling in beer. Things are much different now -- the results much more certain. I love the kits and the accompanied instruction sheet. I also love the results. I once served new friends some Beer Simply Beer stout, Ale and IPA in the same evening. When asked which one they liked the best, the response, after some discussion, was "whichever one we have in our hands." I feel the same.
Cheers
Jim

Very versatile recipe

In the past I've added both chocolate and cranberry flavorings to the recipe it made a great holiday beer. This year I'm going to try blackberry flavoring.
