This has been my go to for yeast for my meads thus far. Have made 2 meads and both have turned out just fine.

Good flavor, doing again

Made a one gallon mead with this using a quart of local honey, finished after seven weeks at a little over 11% ABV -- which was what I was targeting. Finished the penultimate bottle last night some seven months after bottling and all who had some agreed it was good so looking to repeat. While the yeast is relatively expensive I'm not going to argue with the results.

Great Choice for Sweet or semi-sweet

Tried several yeast choices and found this one to be superior to others. finished well @ a measured 13.5 ABV with 13# of local honey, some sliced local Red Haven peaches and crushed vanilla beans. Soft finish, marginally sweet, and more agreeable to those who are not fans of Viking Blod 18% style. Not saying that I personally to not like this one too (hibiscus flowers and hops in the mix with 18# of honey and a more alcohol tolerant yeast) but this one with 4184 had a nice mouth feel. Not sure why others had trouble, unless it was a temperature issue.

Fermentation stalled half way thru in primary. Had to rack and re pitch. Will stay with my dry packs from now on.
