Product Details
Use this grain when you want to add a sweet, coffee-like, grainy flavor to your homebrewed beer. A little goes a long way. Organic roasted barley imparts the flavors associated with Irish Stout.
It is made from unmalted barley, making it distinct from Black Malt which is made by roasting malted barley. This creates a dry, roasted flavor with hints of coffee, and produces a beer with a creamy white to off-white head. It gives black color with ruby highlights and the distinct, dry, roasted bitter flavor characteristic of Guinness.
Briess organic caramel malts are produced in a roaster rather than a kiln. This allows for the application of higher temperatures to the green malt, resulting in the development of unique flavors, colors, and aromas.
