Not your typical amber ale, patterned after Belgian-style pale ales, which might be described as slightly less bitter, more fruity versions of English pale ales. Our Phat Tyre kit is copper-red with a fruity, slightly spicy aroma and flavor that comes from a combination of yeast and hops. A blend of Munich, caramel and Victory malts creates a sweet, toasty, bready character that lingers from the aroma through the finish.

Friend Loves Fat Tire

So I made this beer for a friend who was a big fan of Fat Tire. He stated it was a little too hoppy for him compared to the original Fat Tire. He liked it but told me to tame the hops a bit. I’m not a big Fat Tire fan but the beer is good to me.

One of the best Amber beers!

My husband brews a lot of different beers and all are very good but this one gets an A+. He got this kit a few months ago and was such a hit he asked for another one for Christmas. Since I liked it too, I had to get him 2. My husband is a celiac so he adds the clarity ferm to his process. He kegged the last kit but I’m hoping he’ll bottle one of these. I had never had a fat tire beer but my oldest son drinks it often. He says it’s very close. I finally tried a fat tire and I think this brew is even better. An easy to drink and not too hoppy. Again, it gets an A+.
